Synthesis Statement

Technical Writing

• Decision Report A technical report, in which I cover a variety of factors for deciding an ideal self-publication method and/or service, using a decision matrix.
• Technical Guideline Research Paper A research paper on general best practices for document design regarding style, organization, visual elements, and so on, when creating technical documents for East Asian audiences as a Western or American author.

Design

• Technical Document Design Spread* A collaborative translation and localization project. My task involved updating the visual layout of the document, to ease the localization from a Basque service industry audience to American home cook audience.
• Technical Guideline Research Infographic An infographic version of my technical guideline research report's major takeaways, formatted as a decision tree so users have a clear path to take when considering document creation.

Technical Editing

• Editing Work Sample: Scientific Article A scientific article featuring heavily technical text, written by a non-native English-speaking author. I edited it for grammar, clarity, and with respect to the house style of the journal in which it was published.
• Memo of Edits A memo of the edits I made for the scientific article document. Per the guidelines for this project, resources to help prevent the most frequent grammar errors are also included.
